Kickstart your day with a morning routine

Here in the Southern Hemisphere we are heading into Spring.  

Many of us tend to hibernate a bit over Winter and it’s easy to get out of an active morning routine. 

Here are some ideas to get yourself back into a healthy energy boosting mood in the morning. 

Drink a glass of warm lemon water on waking  

An easy way to do this is when lemons are in season just grab a whole lot and squeeze them.  Then pour the juice into ice cube containers and freeze them ready to take out each morning.  Be careful not to pour boiling water directly on the lemon juice - we put some cold water in first. 

Lemon water is an alkaline substance when it hits our body.  We need this to counter attack all the acidic things we ingest, like coffee, sugar, alcohol etc.  

Having a glass of lemon water in the morning boosts your metabolism and can fight off any bugs that might be around.   

Intermittent Fasting 

Have a read up online and see if it could work for you.  Intermittent fasting is when you eat for an 8 hour period and fast for 16.  We like to start eating at 11 am through to 7pm.   

Fasting has many benefits including your body using up old, diseased cells for fuel while you are fasting. 

A quick exercise routine 

Many of us don’t have time for a long workout in the morning but we all the know the benefits of exercising.  Try this 4 minute workout from Zach Bush to get your body pumping and metabolism boosted. 

It is well proven that if you start the day in a positive way then the rest of your day will follow.
