How to Set-Up and Use a Crystal Grid

Crystals are a fantastic way of manifesting your intentions. Whether you’re shooting for the stars or just trying to focus your mind on an achievable goal, using crystals to find guidance is a sure fire way to get your energy vibe’n.

Now, trust us when we say: we know a lot of people out there think anything to do with crystals is, well, perhaps a little bit woo-woo …. or just downright weird. But bear with us!

Ancient civilisations have found guidance from crystals since the beginning of time. Today, some crystals are thousands, or even millions, of years old and are used widely - from yoga studios to people’s homes and offices; in jewellery and in beauty products.

If you’re on the path to discovering more about the power and guidance crystals can offer, or you want to get serious about manifesting a particular intention, it’s worth exploring the magic of a crystal grid.

Wait. What? A crystal….grid?

Yep, you read correctly. A crystal grid is a set of multiple crystals, arranged in the sacred harmony of a geometric shape. The grid harnesses the spiritual power of both crystals and geometry, and takes the energy behind your goal or ambition up a level.

A crystal grid is made by placing crystals in a geometric pattern, with your intention at the centre of this pattern. Your intention might remain in your thoughts only, or you might choose to write it down on a piece of paper, fold it up and place it in the centre of the pattern.

Where we might normally only use one crystal to focus our energy on, a crystal grid uses a number of crystals, thereby increasing the energy and power that is focused on your intention.

Imagine your car has run out of gas, so now you have to push it to the petrol station to fill up the tank. The petrol station is your goal (your intention). If you push the car on your own you’ll get there eventually, but if many people help to push the car with you, you’ll get there much quicker. It’s the same with crystals. The more you use, the more energy you direct towards your goal and the quicker you can achieve it!

Whatever your goal, a crystal grid is a great way of effectively channeling crystal energy into achieving it. You might have a fitness or health goal or perhaps your wish is for world peace! There are no limits when it comes to setting intentions and striving for goals.

How to set up your crystal grid

If you’re one of our babes who recently received the Astral Box, you already have a bit of a head start as we gave you a Seed of Life pattern and a rose quartz crystal to get you started.

If you didn’t get our last Astral Box, you can find plenty of Seed of Life patterns online - or simply draw a free form pattern of your own OR you can now purchase the Astral Seed of Life Crystal Grid individually. (Psssst…. You can also sign up for our next Astral Box here, so you won’t miss out on any great stuff next time!)

Ready to get started? Here are the steps you need to follow, to set up your crystal grid:

1. Choose your intention

As we mentioned earlier, your intention can be as big or small as you want it to be. Keep it in your thoughts as you craft your grid, or write it down and place it at the centre of the grid.

2. Pick your crystals

Each crystal has a unique frequency that can give any person, space or intention a certain energy. Spend some time finding out which crystals best align with, and support, your personal  intention. Remember, you can always just go with your intuition and select whichever crystals appeal most to you. The rose quartz is perfect for intentions based on love and romance. It opens your heart centre, restores love and trust, and teaches you to love yourself and receive love from another. Who doesn’t want all those good things in their life?!

3. Decide on a grid

Different geometric grids hold different meanings, and most of them showcase ancient spiritual themes. Do some research to find one that resonates with you. As we mentioned earlier, if you got the last Astral Box you would have received a Seed of Life pattern. If you didn’t, you can find the Seed of Life pattern online and print it out or draw it by hand. It is thought that the Seed of Life pattern promotes spiritual protection, as well as being closely linked with the sun.

4. Set up your crystals on the grid

Once your intention is in your mind, you’re feeling focused and you’ve chosen your crystals and geometric pattern, it’s time to place your crystals on the grid. Start from the outside of the pattern and work your way in, mindfully laying your crystals down as you keep your intention at the centre of your thoughts. The last crystal you place is known as the master crystal or focus stone. If you’re using the rose quartz crystal, place this one last on the grid.

5. Connect the dots

Once your crystals have all been placed on the grid, it’s time to connect the ‘dots’ (each crystal on the grid) and activate the grid. You can use a clear quartz for this, working your way in from the outside and passing over each crystal as you go. Keep your intention firmly in your mind as you are doing this. Really try to focus your energy and be mindful.

6. Your intention is set

Once you have connected all of the dots, your intention is set within the grid. You have manifested your intention into your crystals - now sit back, relax and let the crystals do the work!

No woo-woo here!

See, we told you we weren’t going to get too woo-woo on you!

We believe in always learning and trying new things that benefit our spirituality. Trying out a crystal grid and really focusing your energy on something you want to manifest, is just another small step towards self discovery and becoming even more of a spiritual babe. It promotes positivity and a strong, focused mind - and hey, we’re all about those high vibes!
